Monetary units are based on the common silver piece. In game terms, this is equivalent to about 10 dollars (of current value) so as to give a basis for comparison. The offshore people mint their own coins and the dwarves forge their own as well. The relative value of the coins and their size is shown on the following table. (FYI there are about 190 pennies or dimes in a pound, 90 nickels or quarters, and 40 half dollars)

Incomes and Cost of Living

On the Island of Naggel, a struggling income is about 100 sp per month. This would be a peasant farmer, an apprentice, an animal groom, a carpenter, etc. An average job earns about 2 times this. Better jobs are possible yielding up to a thousand silver a month. The brief table below gives some jobs and the incomes they can expect.
